Oslo Airport Transfer Service

Oslo is a real undiscovered gem. The Norwegian capital is famous for its green landscapes, picturesque countryside and museums. It dates back to 1040 and today is the economic and administrative centre of Norway.

Must-visit attractions in Oslo

Oslo has stunning architecture, and among the most beautiful sites you need to visit are the Akershus Fortress, Oslo Opera House, Royal Palace, Oslo Cathedral and City Hall. Oslo is well-known for its museums. While you’re there, you must visit the National Museum, Norsk Folkemuseum, Holmenkollen Ski Museum, Fram Museum and Viking Ship Museum.

Public transportation

Oslo has an integrated public transportation system widely used by locals and tourists. It’s an efficient way of getting around the city and includes the metro, trams, buses and commuter trains. The same ticketing system is valid for all public transport means.

The Oslo metro, also known as T-bane, has five lines which cover the city and all of the 15 boroughs in Oslo. Even, two lines reach out to Baerum, the neighbouring municipality. The Oslo Central Station (Jernbanetorget) is where you can get all information regarding the metro transport in Oslo. The tram network has good coverage inside the Ring line, and although they are slower than the metro, they make more stops. There are six tram lines, out of which two are suburban lines.

The commuter trains are convenient for reaching the suburbs and the neighbouring towns. Oslo Central Station is the main hub for commuter trains, and they also pass through the second-largest station Nationaltheatret. Buses are useful to reach destinations not covered by the other transport means. There are two types of buses in Oslo which you can recognise by their colour. The red ones are local buses which serve the city, and the green ones are regional ones.

If you’re not a fan of maps or public transport, then using a taxi in Oslo is the perfect choice to get around the city. It’s not a custom in Norway to hail a taxi on the street, so it’s best to take a taxi from dedicated taxi ranks. They are near the business and shopping centres, stations and main attractions. Calling a local Oslo taxi is also an option.

How to organise Oslo airport transfer?

Oslo airport is the central hub for arriving in Norway, located 50 km from Oslo. The second one in the Oslo area is Torp Sandefjord Airport, which serves mainly low budget airlines.  Oslo International has good connections with the city and the neighbouring towns. There are regular public transport lines, taxis and private transfer services available.

The Airport Express Train is a fast way to get from Oslo International to the city centre. It departs every 20 minutes and makes stops at both Oslo Central Station and Nationaltheatret. The regional trains are the right choice if you want to travel to Oslo, Skien, Trondheim or Lillehammer.

Oslo International is on the map of the local bus network, and many buses operate from the airport to Oslo and its surrounding area. The Express Coach runs daily to the city centre every 20 minutes.

Torp Sandefjord Airport doesn't have a train station, so a free shuttle will take you to the nearest one where you can take the train to Oslo. The Torp Express bus runs according to the arrival of most international flights, and it will take 2 hours to get to Oslo.

Airport taxi service is available at the terminals, and you can take a taxi at the designated ranks outside Arrivals. It is a good option if you haven’t arranged your airport transfer in advance.
