Dhaka Airport Transfer Service

Dhaka is the capital city of Bangladesh, and one of the largest and most densely populated cities in the world. Its name originates from the dhak tree that was common in the area. Dhaka offers excellent opportunities for street and portrait photography, so it's a real paradise for photographers.

Temples, museums and other exciting places to visit

Dhakeshwari Temple is the centre of the Hindu religion, and it's open every day, so people from all religions can visit. Lalbagh Fort dates back to the 17th century and features a museum that displays Mughal paintings, swords, firearms and calligraphy. The Kawran bazaar opens from midnight and closes at 9:00, while some shops stay open for the whole day. Other exciting places to visit are the Khan Mohammad Mridha's Mosque, the Armenian Church, the Star Mosque with the mosaic of stars on the inside walls, the Parliament building, and Sadarghat River Port.

Buses, auto-rickshaws, taxis and water transportation

One of the most commonly used transportation modes in Dhaka is the rickshaw. They have good availability and low fares, so they are popular among locals and tourists. The yellow rickshaws operate mostly in the strategic areas of the city, and their total number is 1,500.

Buses and the CNG-driven auto-rickshaws are convenient for longer routes, unlike the regular rickshaws which operate on shorter routes. The tempos are shared auto-rickshaws that run on set routes same as buses but are more uncomfortable. Water transportation includes public ferries, commonly known as Launch, which are inexpensive and reliable.

Dhaka taxis are usually available at the intersection or in front of top-end hotels. They don't charge by the meter, so you should negotiate the price before boarding. Self-drive car rental is not available in Bangladesh, but only renting a car with a driver. If you would like to travel outside the city, consider paying for the driver accommodation and food, as well.

Dhaka airport transfer service

Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (DAC) is the gateway for arriving in the capital of Bangladesh, located approximately 17 km north from Dhaka capital. It has three terminals, two for international flights and the third for domestic flights.

The railway station is opposite the airport, and you can reach it via the Tongi Diversion Road. Another cost-efficient option to get to the city is by rickshaw, but you need to cross the main street from the airport to get one. Buses depart from the main road, which is around 5-minute walk from the building terminal, but usually, they are very crowded.

The airport taxi services in Dhaka consist of three types: yellow, white and black taxis. Although they have a taximeter, you still need to negotiate the fare before boarding. A cheaper option is taking a taxi from across the main road, but these taxis are not safe, as they are not authorised.

Arrange a private transport from the airport

The safest and most reliable option to get from Hazrat Shahjalal Airport to your destination is by booking a private airport transfer with us. Avoid the risk of overcharging with our all-inclusive airport taxi service. You can get an instant quote on our website, and book the Dhaka airport transfer in advance.

Our driver will wait for you at the Arrivals Hall of the terminal and take you safely to your destination. The fare for a one-way journey from Dhaka Hazrat Shahjalal Airport to Dhaka city centre is USD 43 for two passengers. City Airport Taxis also organises transfers to many other destinations, including Gulshan, Komlapur, Mirpur, and Wari.
